I haven’t written in a while

- Saw Bright Star too pretty for words, even if you don’t like Romantic Poets (I don’t know how that is possible) see it because it’s pretty and Ben reads poetry and who doesn’t like Englishmen reading poetry?

- Started watching Modern Family and Glee, MF is more laugh out loud, light, happy, don’t really need to think. Glee, on the other hand, although happy and funny has a bit more substance to it I find.

- Also, finally got around to watching the S2 finale of True Blood, a bit of a letdown. The only reason I watch this show is because I have a weakness for tall Swedish men.

- I gave up on Weeds

- Started a new manga: Black Lagoon. Not too bad, I’ve only read a couple of chapters but so far I am entertained.

- On a non fannish note, a good friend of mine has a non-operable brain tumour. They’re going to do chemo and radiation but who survives a brain tumour?

Right now, I like to think back to this entry. Oh life, you really can stick it to someone.

In the past two weeks this stuff had happened:

I went to New York! I bought shit, met Pstump, talked to Hunter Parish and pulled a Hiro in Time Square.
I realized that I read too much fic! I rather read fic then books!
Supernatural is becoming awesome again! Dean, you slay me.
I haven’t really commented :/
Pete Wentz and Ashlee finally had that kid! I pity his name though, shit son.
Exams are coming soon! Oh god.

That’s all, I am now going to go read fic.

Five weeks of not updating is the new record for me.

Five things that have happened since I last posted:

1. I have a solid 84 average. I haven’t had an average this high since the eighth grade before I went to high school and my soul was sucked out.
2. I rediscovered my love for Battlestar Galactica and I am not going to lie, I am so excited for January.
3. Another thing coming out in January, Franz Ferdinand’s new album. They’re my one of my favourite bands, always in the Top 5.
4. YouTube sucks and took down Hollyoaks. I made a major sad face.
5. I started looking into universities, decided I want to go to Trinity College in Dublin and I am most likely not going to get in.

So it’s been a while? Classes have killed me dead basically and my brain hurts from all the extra work I’ve had to do this year.
Other then school I have been

- Watching a lot of Gossip Girl
- + The Tudors
- Figuring my shit out

So far not a bad start! I nearly broke down in tears once when I couldn’t find the location of one of my classes and again when I realized that I had left my keys at home and I had to bust in through one of the windows. That was the longest run-on sentence of my life.
So people, any good fic or shows to tell me about?

It’s been raining a lot lately; it’s bad because my mood is affected by the weather a lot more then it probably should be. Also, due to the fact that everything in Hollywood seems to be in utter SHAMBLES (I love that word) I wrote a haiku that is actually not a haiku.

I have been reading this even though I know I should be reading this.

And now

Reading: I finished rereading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, I really like that book. I really hate that book. It’s both very avant-garde and very classic in the way the plot is written and the characters develop. The way it is printed does its job on getting the reader into a certain mind frame, it gave me nightmares. Seriously, the first time I read it I was up at ass o’clock in the morning and I couldn’t sleep so I read it. Second time I was sitting on a balcony watching the ocean. Each time I got the shivers.

I am now reading this and in Real Book Land I am reading Water for Elephants. Apparently it is good, I need read more till I can decide if it is a good book or a bad book.

Watching: Supernatural (I miss ma boyz and I still get emotional when Papa Winchester does, well (there are people here new to the show so…) you know what I mean. I love Season Two, hardcore. I’ve also been watching Rock-A-Doodle and Thumbelina really late at night and during the day I am looking for the copy of An American Tail which is still packed even though we’ve been living here for four years now.

Listening: Laura Marling, The Weakerthans, Lemon Jelly, Timberland, Franz Ferdinand, Pussycat Dolls, Leathermouth and The Killers.

Wearing: My very worn pyjama’s even though its only eight thirty here.

Planning: To get everything for September in order, bake bread, make French toast, practice proper spelling and weed the garden.

I'm a little late

So I came back from Florida a while ago now. I just had nothing going on worth talking (typing?) about. It’s weird, a year or two ago I was updating every other day on the old handles but now every couple of weeks should do it. It feels good, my life is less cluttered then it used to be.

I’ve been listening to this one song a lot lately. Like seriously, it went from having only ten plays to fifty six in three days. I shit you not. You people can probably tell the reason I like it so much is because of A) the catchy chorus or B) the fact that it was on Doctor Who that one time.

I was randomly flicking through channels today (I already run out of fic, damn it!) and came across I’m Not Okay. I then went on to comment on it to my mom,

Me: Oh man, Frank! You’re such a baby face!
Mom: Is that a girl?
Me: No, that’s Mikey going through his lesbian girl phase
Mom: Oh
Me: Look! Look at his little hands! They’re tattoo free!
Mom: Aren’t they supposed to be?
Me: (sings along badly)

I have a good mom, she puts up with me very nicely. Later I got a call from my friend Allie,

Allie: I just finished two of the fics you sent me.
Me: The new ones, as in the one’s that were written last week?
Allie: No, the B³ one, you read at an abnormally fast rate Julia.
Me: *hangs head in shame*

Florida in a week! (I’ve been saying it like Flo Rida, I wonder if he notices the pun that could be used on his name…) Looking forward to the Mickey Land part of it and not to the wedding part of it, I had a dream where I was like Miranda when she had to be the book person; I hope there won’t be a sense of déjà vu.

An update

So on Wednesday night I went and saw a band called

I know, most of the people on the f-list think they are lame/don’t know who they are, but that doesn’t mean you are not going to get a post about it from me :D

It was really rainy when Samm, Allie and I got there, we brought an umbrella with us fortunately and we went and talked with many random people who were also wet and waiting as well. We got to the venue at five and the doors didn’t open till six, so it was a long wait.
It was totally worth it though. During our wait we went and took many random pictures of the hippie-tastic bus the boys were using. It was made of win.

When six came the doors still hadn’t opened and the umbrella went inside out so we became grumpy.

The huge ass hippie car totally made up for it though.
So we get inside finally and Samm checks her bag in and Allie and I go to merch, she got a Motion City Soundtrack shirt. I tried to find a picture of it but I couldn’t, I totally forgot to get a picture of it too, her shirt is sick. I got a Hush Sound shirt, I couldn’t find a picture of it either and I can’t find my camera, life if cruel on the getting pictures of new and fabulous t-shirts front.
So then we went off towards the stage.

It was packed and it became crazy once Phantom Planet came on.

By this time Samm got separated from Allie and I. We left where we were (which was near the back by the sound booth) because some crazy chicks with even crazier hair told us they would fuck us up if we didn’t leave. I later saw them getting taken outside by security, I lol’d hard. Chris and Darren from The Hush Sound came out for a song or two around then and Chris was so sweet, he was totally playing his heart out on that little bass of his. Then Allie and I (or we from now on) went to the side, down by the bar left of the stage and then we went on an angle in and got pretty damn close, we were eight rows back by the time PP finished with ‘California’. That was sick (the song, but our location was pretty good too) and we sung to it very loudly.

Then The Hush Sound came out.

BOB! He was so sweet; he kept on saying that we were better than any other crowd they had played during the tour. We were all singing along really loudly too, I was screaming “GRETA!” over and over again (the only woman I would ever marry) and he totally jumped on to and off the amps.

BOB! DARREN! Darren can drum like no one else’s business, like seriously, YouTube them and just watch him, fucking ace.

The rest of them came out crappy, which saddens me. She looked sooooo good. I love her voice live too, if the links to the vids could have worked you would have seen what I mean (damn you YouTube!)
After the Hushies went off Motion City Soundtrack went on. They asked us to not shove each other and to help someone up if they fell and they told stories in between songs. They said “HEY GUYS! WE’RE FROM MINNESOTA! THAT’S LIKE CANADA JOUNIER BUT YOU GUYS ARE BETTER!” which made my heat swell. ♥
They were on for a looooong time, about an hour and when they went off it Allie and I were dying but we had okay pics (at least, we thought we did before she went and uploaded them). We agreed that after song number three we would head out before we passed out.
So we waited for Panic.
And we waited for Panic.
We were still waiting for Panic.
We all began chanting “Panic” over and over again, we heard a crash coming from the stage. I told Allie that it was probably a guilty feeling tech trying to go faster. Then Panic came on.

Jon! Sorry bb~, you were too far away for us to get any good pics. We left the pit after song number four, Allie and I shoved our way out through the back and I picked up a t-shirt on the way (fan made but who am I to complain about free stuff?). After going to the bar and getting water we went to the bathroom to go and refill the water bottle we got. We then went out so we were on the left side facing the stage and we had v. nice view of Ryan, Spencer and Brendon, not Jon though saidly.

Right about then he said that his pants were falling down, he didn’t apologize, he was just saying. Oh Brendon.

I really want this hoodie. I also really want this to come out soon. Like burning, June 24th seems far away right now.
